Biography

Chandra Athaudage received B.Sc. degree in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering with first class honours from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in 1991, and the M.Sc. degree in Information Science from Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), in 1997. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Australia, in 2001.

Dr. Athaudage received a Japanese Government Fellowship during his graduate studies, and an Academic Excellence Award from JAIST in 1997. During 1993-94 he was an Assistant Lecturer at University of Moratuwa, and during 1999-2000 a Lecturer at RMIT, where he taught undergraduate and graduate courses in digital signal processing and communication theory and systems. He has been a member of IEEE since 1995. Since 2001, he has been a Research Fellow at the ARC Special Research Centre for Ultra-Broadband Information Networks (CUBIN), University of Melbourne, Australia. He has published over 40 papers in international journals and conferences, and served in the Technical Program Committe (TPC) of number of international conferences.

His research interests include signal processing for communications, multimedia communications, wireless multicarrier (OFDM) and MIMO systems, and diversity techniques for wireless networks.
