Biography

Ramanan Subramanian was born in Ahmedabad, India and spent his time in Chennai, India during his schooling days. He then joined the undergraduate degree program in Electrical Engineering offered by the Indian Institute of Technology - Madras (Chennai, India) and secured his Bachelor's degree with EE as his major in 2003. In 2004, he moved to Atlanta, GA, USA and enrolled for the graduate degree program of the School of ECE at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He obtained his Master of Science degree in 2006 with ECE as his major. Since 2004, he was also employed as a Graduate Research Assistant with the IPCAS lab of Prof. Faramarz Fekri, who also served as his PhD thesis advisor. During the Fall semester of 2007, he worked as a Graduate Intern in the Mobile Wireless Group at Intel Corporation, Hillsboro, OR, USA. After a successful completion of his PhD dissertation in October 2009, he joined the Institute of Telecommunications Research at the University of South Australia where he is currently employed as a Research Fellow. His research interests include wireless networking, telecommunications, information theory, queuing theory, and statistics.
