Biography

Kegen Yu was born in Linchuan, China. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia, in 2003. After completing the B.Eng. degree, he spent two years in industry as a practicing engineer, working on electronic instrument maintenance. Later, he became a Lecturer and taught a number of undergraduate courses in electrical engineering at Nanchang University, Jiangxi, China. He was with Centre for Wireless Communications, University of Oulu, Oulu, Finland, as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. During this period, he participated in a number of projects, including the EU Sixth Framework project Pervasive Ultra-wideband Low Spectral Energy Radio Systems (PULSERS). From November 2005 to April 2009, he was with Wireless Technologies Laboratory, CSIRO ICT Centre, working on projects in ad hoc wireless positioning systems, wireless sensor networks and reconfigurable radio. Since May 2009 he has been with Wireless Communications and Networking Laboratory within Macquarie University. He is a co-author of the book: Ground-Based Wireless Positioning (Wiley, 2009). He is also a co-author of three positioning-related book chapters in UWB Theory and Practice (Wiley, 2004), Ultra-Wideband Wireless Communications and Networks (Wiley, 2006), and Ultra Wideband Wireless Communication (Wiley, 2006). Dr. Yu has published over 40 referred journal and conference papers. His current research interests include wireless body area networks, wireless location and tracking, and smart antennas.
